Alliance and Leicester prepaid cards
Alliance and Leicester seem to be at the forefront of the Prepaid cards industry in the UK, and a such they have appointed John Schratz as Director of Sales & Marketing, Prepaid Cards.
The prepaid card is really a replacement for cash but it is not a credit card. Prepaid cards, like credit cards, can be used to purchase goods online. They work like a visa debit card in that you can only spend money that you have by pre-loading the card with cash at various places like postoffices and branches of Alliance and Leicester.
Commenting on his new role, John Schratz said: “Prepaid cards are on the verge of exponential growth in take-up, with predictions that the number of cards in circulation in Europe will grow at over 110% per year for the next four years, with 2.3 billion transactions by 2010. With Alliance & Leicester already at the forefront of this market and looking to develop its proposition, it is an exciting time to be joining the team.”
I couldn’t find any information on the Alliance and Leicester web site about prepaid cards so perhaps they are still to launch these in the UK.
A quick Google search revealed the following sites; www.mycashplus.co.uk www.compareprepaid.co.uk www.which-prepaid-card.co.uk
